October 2023 Reading List

Tough month. A lot of really good highs, a couple unexpected and very heavy lows.

I also finally got to chat with my doctor about a prescription called Concerta (though I think I have the generic version), which is supposed to help with my focus without tweaking me the fuck out the way Adderall does. After a couple weeks, it's still not working quite the way I experienced the first time, but...that may be for a number of different, but coalescing, reasons.

Regardless, it's a stimulant and I'm finding myself waking up naturally at 3:30/4am regularly now, so it's been easy to get some reading in before the work day begins, even if I find myself worn the fuck down at the end of the day. That I am finally able to move from books with images/graphic novels into books of full text is a massive step forward. That's a weird phrase for me to think, much less type out.

I also got something close to 3,000 words knocked out on a new piece for my latest project recently, but that's for a different future post (also very excited about momentum building in that regard).
